Are you an enthusiastic Electronics Engineering Lecturer who enjoys helping learners overcome barriers and build confidence? Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a dedicated Electronics Engineering Lecturer to join our Engineering Department on a full-time, permanent basis. Based across our accessible campuses, including Rush Green, Barking & Dagenham College prepares young people and adults with the essential skills they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study. Our Engineering provision plays a critical role in that journey.

The Role

As an Electronics Engineering Lecturer, you’ll deliver engaging, inclusive teaching that supports learners to achieve and progress. You’ll contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement, ensuring provision remains responsive to learner and employer needs. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Electronics Engineering lessons, including schemes of work
  • Using effective, learner-centered assessment methods with constructive feedback
  • Tracking and supporting learner attendance, progress and achievement
  • Providing coaching and pastoral support to designated learners
  • Maintaining safe learning environments and promoting positive behaviours
  • Keeping up to date with developments in Electrical Engineering education and assessment
  • Participating in CPD and quality improvement activities

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from both qualified teachers and those aspiring to teach. Hold a teaching qualification with experience teaching in Further or Higher Education, or hold a qualification in Electronics Engineering (or related subject) and be willing to work towards a teaching qualification through our Passport to Teaching programme. In addition, you’ll have:

  • A learner-focused approach with strong communication skills
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • A commitment to equality, safeguarding and inclusive practice
