We're recruiting for aFootball Academy Coachto join our team on a part-time 8 hours per week, fixed-term basis.

What You’ll Be Doing

Following our current Football Academy Coach progressing their coaching career and moving abroad, we are now looking for a Coach to continue the excellent work that was built last season.

You will be responsible for training the 1stteam squad and will accompany the 2ndteam squad to for their match days. We play in the AoC London Men's Leagues and were successful in establishing ourselves in this league last year finishing 3rdoverall.

We now need someone to continue players development and team progress to ensure continuity and ensure the teams reach the potential they are capable of.

You will:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver coaching sessions in tandem with Hornchurch Football Club football philosophy.
  • Be responsible for maintenance of training / match balls, bibs, cones and all other relevant equipment as required by the Academy.
  • Work with match analysts to plan and prepare relevant team and individual footage
  • Provide feedback to players by using video analysis or other industry methods.
  • Plan and organise AoC/Academy teams training sessions, fixtures, re-scheduled fixtures and referees/officials.
  • Plan, organise and attend trips abroad (where required).
  • Accompany players to matches.
  • Inform all players, parents and guardians of any changes or cancellations to training sessions, matches or events as soon as possible ensuring league rules and complied with
  • Complete registers for sessions (Safeguarding duty).
  • Report all player injuries immediately to the Sports Therapist and complete mandatory/legal Health and Safety reporting processes.
  • Support recruiting players for the Academy in tandem with theCurriculum Manager.
  • Attend all Football Academy, Curriculum or Hornchurch FC meetings e.g. parent’s evenings.
  • Work efficiently and effectively with cross college staff, external partners, visitors and business support teams.

What We’re Looking For

You should have:

  • UEFA A or B licence
  • FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football
  • Previous Experience of working with a Football Academy 16-18 set up within FE
  • Previous Player Experience a Semi or Professional Level

In addition, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience of player welfare
  • Experience of planning, delivering and reviewing coaching sessions in line with UEFA A or B licence qualification
  • Experience, knowledge and expertise of the use of Microsoft office software packages
  • Efficient administration skills, to support good player records e.g. registers
