As a Lecturer – ESOL, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that inspire, challenge and support students to achieve their goals. You’ll play a key role in shaping our innovative provision and supporting learners to progress into employment or further study.

  • Plan and develop engaging lessons, including the creation of schemes of work
  • Develop and implement learner‑centred assessment methods, providing constructive and developmental feedback
  • Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students
  • Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforcing health and safety standards and promoting compliance
  • Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students to support their development and progression
  • Keep up to date with industry developments to maintain the relevance and employability focus of the curriculum
  • Actively participate in continuing professional development within the education sector
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the ESOL curriculum offer

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recognised teaching qualification with experience of teaching in Further or Higher Education
  • Strong lesson planning and curriculum development skills
  • Experience using learner‑centred assessment strategies
  • The ability to track and monitor attendance, progress and achievement accurately
  • Good administrative and organisational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for upskilling the next generation and supporting learner progression
