Enrichment Assistant

Base pay range: £23,339 – £25,825 pa inc London Weighting (pro rata to 36hpw, 38 weeks per year). Full‑time, term‑time only basis.

Reporting to the Support Life and Enrichment Manager , you will plan and deliver an appropriate range of cross‑College activities in line with the enrichment programme and national themes to engage students and contribute to their personal, social development and employability.

In addition you will promote and develop the Learner Voice across college and support learners to set up and run clubs and societies.

Key Responsibilities of our Enrichment Assistant

  • Plan and organise virtual events for student interaction and engagement.
  • Work with the Student Life and Enrichment Manager to develop a programme of cross‑college activities such as the Freshers’ Fair, Health and Fitness Fair and themed events (e.g. International Women’s Day).
  • Develop and deliver a range of student enrichment activities, primarily for 16‑18 year olds but including adult students.
  • Support the drug, alcohol and substance misuse education programme for all students; this will include using external organisations and internal resources to deliver sessions during tutorials.
  • Support curriculum enrichment planning, which may include sourcing funding, attending trips and booking guest speakers.
  • Effectively monitor and report on student enrichment, employability and pastoral (EEP) events via the appropriate college systems.

Our ideal Enrichment Assistant

  • Educated to A level or equivalent standard (E).
  • Experience of working in an education environment or a similar setting with young people (E).
  • Have, or be willing to take, a Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification (E).
  • Ability to plan, organise and deliver events with excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, including effective use of IT systems and tools (E).
  • Knowledge of Students’ Union recruitment and activities (D).

Eligibility and Safeguarding

These include enhanced DBS including children’s barred list check, DfE teaching/management barred list check, online searches, overseas criminal record check, evidence of identity and right to work in the UK, satisfactory references, confirmation of medical fitness, evidence of relevant qualifications and a check of previous employment history.

You will be required to become familiar with College’s policies and comply with the requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and young people and vulnerable adults. All staff are asked to complete mandatory training on KCSIE and other key areas, and to read the relevant policies.
