Deputy Principal Finance & Resources at Barking & Dagenham College. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for financial and estates management and a broader portfolio aligned with the candidate's skills. You will report to the Principal and Chief Executive and be a member of the Executive and Senior Leadership Team, creating systems to support managers while maintaining controls required for public funds. You will lead the initiative to establish and maintain a central data set that can be used to visualise performance across the College.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership in all aspects of financial and estates management, aligning the portfolio with the College’s strategic objectives.
  • Maintain appropriate controls for public funds and accountability, reporting to the Corporation as required.
  • Collaborate with College leadership to ensure sound financial governance and decision-making.
  • Lead data initiatives to visualise the College’s performance for managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with experience in managing a complex organisation.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams who share a collective ambition to deliver and improve learner experiences.
  • Ability to work in a highly complex environment and adapt to challenging funding regimes; FE experience is not essential but desirable.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking and commitment to inclusivity and high learner outcomes.
