What You'll Be Doing

As a Lecturer in Counselling, you will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across Counselling programmes, supporting learners to achieve outstanding outcomes and progress into further study or employment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and assessing Counselling programmes across a range of levels.
  • Delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment using a variety of innovative and learner-centred approaches.
  • Supporting learner progress through effective tutorial, coaching and pastoral support.
  • Monitoring, tracking and recording learner achievement and attendance in line with college requirements.
  • Developing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources that promote learner engagement and success.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Participating in learner recruitment, interviews, enrolment, induction and open events.
  • Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion within all aspects of teaching and learner support.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a passionate and committed educator who can inspire learners and contribute positively to a high‑performing curriculum team. You will have:

  • A degree or professional qualification in Counselling or a related subject.
  • A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching Counselling programmes from Level 2 to Level 6.
  • Experience of delivering and assessing Counselling qualifications.
  • Excellent teaching, learning and assessment practice.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good IT and administrative skills, including maintaining accurate learner records.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and learner success.
