Barkers is an award-winning mid-market and corporate market implementation partner for Coupa. Our practice is growing rapidly as we deliver first class solutions across a range of clients. We are recruiting an experienced Solutions Architect to join our permanent team. This role targets professionals with more than 4 years of experience delivering P2P solutions, offering support, training and opportunity to develop as a technical expert and consultant.
Job purpose: The Solutions Architect will lead the design, implementation, and management of technical solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. This role supports clients in enhancing their technology capabilities through strategic planning, solution development, and deployment, while collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, provide tailored recommendations, and foster strong relationships to deliver successful outcomes. This role requires exceptional communication skills, deep knowledge of Coupa, and a high degree of self-accountability in a multi-client environment.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the leading authority on the functional and technical deployment of Coupa for clients.
- Handle all aspects of technical and functional design, configuration, and deployment of the platform into client environments, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Contribute to the end-to-end client lifecycle, from initial proposals through implementation, project management, and platform embedding.
- Bring expertise in all implementation components, including Coupa configuration, setup, and supplier enablement.
- Conduct workshops and design review sessions to maintain alignment between clients and project plans.
- Work confidently in a multi-client environment, adhering to time-bound project plans.
- Provide technical and functional guidance to clients during implementation to ensure successful adoption.
- Create and refine implementation templates, training materials, and presentations to promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Apply implementation methodologies and industry knowledge to develop effective functional designs.
- Share relevant experiences with clients and colleagues to encourage collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and train team members on technical design, implementation, and best practices.
- Support the creation and presentation of sales proposals to prospective clients.
- Line management of staff as required, whether in project lifecycle or on an ongoing basis.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Project Management & Leadership: Strong project management skills with excellent prioritisation and self-organisation abilities, familiar with PM tools and techniques (Gantt charts, RAID logs, client reporting, risk management, and agile/waterfall approaches). Ability to manage busy workloads in a multi-client environment. Experience with pre-sales discovery, scoping, and tender management. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Strong collaboration and adaptability to evolving technology trends.
- Platform Expertise: Current and up-to-date training, accreditations, and certifications in Coupa or other directed platforms. Proven track record as a Solution Architect in designing and implementing Coupa solutions. Deep deployment experience in Coupa modules (Procurement, Invoicing, SIM, Invoicing/SAP-related modules). Experience with additional modules such as Sourcing, CLMS/A, RPMA/S, Analytics, AI Classification. Experience supporting or undertaking data migration. Ability to lead functional, design, and architecture discussions with clients and partners. Proficiency in user acceptance testing, system integration testing, regression testing, and impact analysis. Expertise in supplier enablement, including catalogs, buying channels, invoicing channels, e-invoicing regulations, and models such as PEPPOL. Integration architecture experience (REST, webhooks, cXML, PunchOut, file-based patterns). Practical knowledge of integration with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud ERP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workday, Infor).
Working Patterns: Flexible, primarily home-based role with required attendance at the HQ in Chorley, Lancashire and client sites as needed. Willingness and ability to commute within the UK and accommodate overnight stays when required.
