Our public sector client based in Watton, Norfolk is currently seeking an experienced HGV Refuse Collection Driver to join their team as soon as possible! This will be a temporary opportunity, working ongoing until further notice. There is also the opportunity to gain a contract after 12 weeks depending on performance.
The hours of work will be 5:45am-2:15pm Monday to Friday with a pay rate of £15.52 per hour.
Duties of the role will include:
- Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
- Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
- Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
- Complete relevant paperwork in real time
- Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
- Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles
- Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
- Driver CPC Card (TACO)
- Driver Qualification Card
- DVLA Check
- Willingness to help with refuse loading while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated
- Willingness to undertake tasks
- Clean drivers licence desirable for all staff
