Barker Ross Recruitment are currently recruiting for Skilled Shift PSV Engineers to join a well-established passenger transport operation at their Ware depot. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers who are confident working to high standards and want a secure, long-term role within a professional engineering environment.
As a Skilled PSV Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining fleet safety, reliability, and compliance, working to engineering standards that exceed DVSA requirements.
What You'll Work OnThis is a hands‑on engineering role focused on preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and high‑quality repairs across a commercial PCV fleet. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on buses and coaches
- Diagnosing faults and completing reactive repairs to a high standard
- Servicing, maintenance, and repairs in line with company and DVSA requirements
- Preparing vehicles for MOTs and completing planned preventative maintenance
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure vehicles meet high engineering and safety standards
- Supporting continuous improvements in vehicle reliability
- Attending roadside breakdowns when required
You will work as part of a skilled engineering team with strong management support and clear expectations around quality and safety.
Shift PatternThis role operates on a full rotating shift rota, rotating every four weeks, working 5 days per week:
- 2 weeks early shifts – 05:00 / 06:00 start
- 1 week day shifts – 09:00 / 10:00 start
- 1 week late shifts – 14:00 / 15:00 start
Full rota details will be provided at interview stage.
What's On Offer- £25 per hour
- Overtime paid at £37.50 per hour, with regular overtime available
- 40‑hour working week
- Permanent, full‑time contract
- 20 days annual leave plus 8
