The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a newly established civil engineering manufacturing company based in Rotherham, specialising in the production of steel reinforcement components used within concrete and infrastructure projects. As part of the company's initial operational build, they are seeking an experienced Working Foreman / Production Manager to play a pivotal role in establishing and leading day-to-day production activities from the outset. This is a senior, hands-on leadership position suited to an individual with strong experience operating Poly Bending machinery, combined with the ability to help shape production standards, workflows, and team performance within a new manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence how the production function is developed, ensuring efficient operations, strong safety culture, and high-quality output from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily production operations within the facility
- Operate and oversee Poly Bending machine setup, programming, and output
- Support the setup and organisation of production processes and workflows
- Supervise, mentor, and develop shop-floor staff
- Ensure production targets and delivery deadlines are achieved
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality compliance
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and operational priorities
- Identify and implement efficient working practices as the operation develops
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience operating Poly Bending machinery (essential)
- Background in steel reinforcement, rebar manufacturing, or civil engineering production
- Experience in a Foreman, Supervisor, or Production Manager role
- Strong hands-on leadership approach
- Comfortable working within a new or developing operation
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety and quality standards
