Steel Bending Operative - Rotherham Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour Contract: Initial 6-week contract with the opportunity for a longer-term position Start: Immediate start available Work Location: In person - Rotherham We are currently recruiting for an experienced Steel Bending Operative to join a busy manufacturing company in Rotherham, producing reinforcement products for the concrete construction industry using rebar. We are specifically looking for someone with previous experience operating an EVG Polybend bending machine and bending rebar to specific sizes for continuity strip. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role involving the bending, handling and movement of steel materials. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and carrying out repetitive manual tasks throughout the shift. Key Responsibilities Operating an EVG Polybend bending machine safely and efficiently. Bending rebar to specific sizes for continuity strip according to production requirements. Setting and operating the machine accurately to meet required specifications. Measuring and checking finished products to ensure they meet the required sizes. Manually handling and moving steel materials throughout the shift. Following production instructions and health and safety procedures. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.Requirements Previous experience operating an EVG Polybend bending machine. Experience bending rebar to specific sizes for continuity strip. Previous steelwork, reinforcement or manufacturing experience is advantageous. Good level of physical fitness. Reliable, hardworking and punctual. Good attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
