Barker Ross is currently recruiting for a Recycling Operative for our client specialising in Recycling Waste Streams for individual clients. This is a temporary ongoing position. Our client is looking for candidates that want to join the business on an ongoing basis and grow with their company. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sorting recyclable materials, maintaining cleanliness of the recycling area, and operating machinery such as a baler to compact materials for storage or transport.
- Ensures safe handling of materials, follows health and safety procedures, and assists with loading and unloading recyclable goods as needed.
- May work in indoor or outdoor environments, often as part of a team.
- Sorting recyclable materials manually or with machinery.
- Operating equipment, such as balers, compactors, and conveyor belts, to process materials.
- Monitoring contamination in recyclable streams and removing non-recyclable items.
- Loading and unloading recycling materials for transport.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the work area and ensuring proper storage of processed materials.
- Adhering to health and safety guidelines to minimize risk to self and others.
- Reporting equipment faults or hazards to supervisors.
To be successful you will need:
- To be aware that the working areas are often out in all-weather terrain, often sorting and processing waste revenue streams outdoors.
