Pay Rates: £12.87 per hour.

Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm with 30 min lunch break.

Barker Ross is currently recruiting for a Recycling Operative for our client specialising in Recycling Waste Streams for individual clients. This is a temporary ongoing position. Our client is looking for candidates that want to join the business on an ongoing basis and grow with their company. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sorting recyclable materials, maintaining cleanliness of the recycling area, and operating machinery such as a baler to compact materials for storage or transport.
  • Ensures safe handling of materials, follows health and safety procedures, and assists with loading and unloading recyclable goods as needed.
  • May work in indoor or outdoor environments, often as part of a team.
  • Sorting recyclable materials manually or with machinery.
  • Operating equipment, such as balers, compactors, and conveyor belts, to process materials.
  • Monitoring contamination in recyclable streams and removing non-recyclable items.
  • Loading and unloading recycling materials for transport.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the work area and ensuring proper storage of processed materials.
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines to minimize risk to self and others.
  • Reporting equipment faults or hazards to supervisors.

To be successful you will need:

  • To be aware that the working areas are often out in all-weather terrain, often sorting and processing waste revenue streams outdoors.
