Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being, safety, and development of the children, while creating a nurturing and homely environment. Working as part of a team, you will build positive relationships, implement care plans, and facilitate engaging activities to promote their growth and positive outcomes.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities: \\n\\nProvide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and physical and emotional needs are met.\\nBuild positive relationships with the children, establishing trust and promoting a sense of belonging and security.\\nImplement individual care plans and support strategies, collaborating with colleagues and relevant professionals to meet the specific needs and goals of each child.\\nCreate a nurturing and stimulating environment, organising and facilitating age appropriate activities, outings, and recreational opportunities.\\nSupport children in their daily routines, including meals, personal hygiene, schoolwork, and leisure activities, encouraging independence and life skills development.\\nObserve and document significant information, incidents, and progress in written reports and contribute to the overall assessment and evaluation process.\\nCollaborate with colleagues, therapists, and external professionals to provide comprehensive care, ensuring effective communication and coordination of support services.\\nPromote and maintain a safe and secure environment, implementing safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, and health and safety guidelines.\\nActively seek to build strong relationships with our young people and promote the development and maintenance of positive relationships as an important life skill\\nSupport children in developing positive social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution techniques, providing guidance and role modelling appropriate behaviour.\\nParticipate in teamwork and professional development that helps foster a creative and collaborative team culture in the pursuit of high-quality child centred care.\\nAttend relevant training and professional development sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in working with children and young people in a residential setting. \\n\\nQualifications/Skills/Experience Person Specification: * QCF 3 (Desirable).\\n\\nCompletion / working towards completion of QCF level 3 within the regulatory 2 year requirement (Essential).\\nPrior experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care or childcare setting.\\nSound understanding of child development principles, attachment theory, and traumainformed care approaches.\\nAbility to engage with children from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating empathy, patience, and resilience.\\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with children, colleagues, and external professionals.\\nFlexibility and adaptability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required in a residential care setting.\\nBasic knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and safeguarding procedures related to residential childcare.\\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating and sharing information to ensure consistent care provision.\\nGood organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
