Our public sector client based in North Tyneside requires team members to join their Street Cleansing department, to support through to May 2027. The requested cover is necessary to maintain continuity of frontline street cleansing operations, specifically the emptying of on-street litter bins across the borough on a Monday to Friday basis. The roles are paying £12.71 per hour. This role is critical to maintaining the borough's environmental cleanliness standards and public satisfaction.

Duties primarily include:

  • Emptying on-street litter bins across designated routes
  • Safe operation of side loader collection vehicles
  • Daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
  • Maintaining cleanliness around litter bin locations
  • Supporting wider Street Cleansing duties when required

The Street Cleansing service provides a highly visible frontline function, and maintaining consistent litter bin emptying schedules is essential to public perception and local environmental standards. Operating as a team member on the Wallsend Street Cleansing Team, specifically on the side loader / derby vehicles emptying on street litter bins.
