Barker Ross is recruiting a Service Engineer with hands-on experience in mechanical or maintenance work. This role is with a well-established agricultural engineering company, ideal for candidates who want to develop into Irrigation Engineers. You'll mainly work in the workshop with occasional travel to customer sites during peak seasons, after full training.
Responsibilities
- Service, inspect, and repair irrigation equipment and farm machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults
- Attend on-site breakdowns when required
- Complete service reports and documentation
What We're Looking For (Qualifications)
- Practical, hands-on experience with machinery, mechanical systems, or maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Full UK driving licence
- Desirable: Hydraulic or electrical knowledge
- Welding/fabrication experience
- Forklift licence
Working Hours
- Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00
- Friday: 08:00-16:30
- On-call rota required
