Barker Ross are recruiting on behalf of our client for Driver's Mates to join their busy delivery operation based in Harlow.

This is a hands-on, physical role working alongside a driver to complete multi-drop deliveries to a variety of customers, including:

  • Hospitals
  • Retail stores
  • Convenience stores
  • Other business premises

The role will involve:

  • Assisting the driver with multi-drop deliveries
  • Loading and unloading goods
  • Moving and handling goods throughout the day
  • Delivering goods to various customer locations
  • Working as part of a two-person delivery team
  • Helping to ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently
  • Providing good customer service at delivery locations

Working hours

The base hours are approximately 9 hours per day. However, due to the nature of multi-drop deliveries, finish times cannot be guaranteed or fixed. Finish times will depend on the number of deliveries, traffic, delivery locations and the time taken at each delivery. Flexibility is therefore required.

  • Good timekeeping and attendance
  • Positive attitude and willing to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous delivery, warehouse or manual handling experience would be an advantage but is not essential
