They are keen to hear from ambitious individuals who thrive on taking full ownership, are committed to leading teams and developing talent and who are very much wanting to make the role their own. The role of General Manager is an excellent platform from which to really drive the business to its next level of success.

The client is ambitious and dynamic and with plans afoot to further increase volume on the back of previous expansion, they have an unrelenting desire to become an employer of choice. It is a meritocracy, and they promote and reward individuals who deliver against objectives, commitments and show great performance. Ambition, resilience, enthusiasm and energy are key traits of their employees.

As General Manager, the opportunity would suit a people-oriented leader and a creative problem solver, an exceptional communicator and an individual who has the presence and gravitas to influence, whilst at the same time being very close to the ground operationally. You will have a track record of driving down costs, improving efficiencies and increasing profitability combined with delivering an exceptional service. Whilst it is an operationally biased role, you will have a sound commercial understanding and work collaboratively with your colleagues throughout the business to realise the company’s vision and achieve goals.

Preference will be given to candidates who have a solid transport and logistics background, particularly those that come from general haulage and have worked with palletised freight. Pallet Network experience would be an advantage.

The scope of this role is wide and varied and your man-management expertise cannot be underestimated; you will be a naturally energetic, motivational leader with drive and passion in what you do, capable of creating a collaborative environment in which people feel they are really part of the success of the business.
