A well established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Supervisor to support production operations across High Care and Low Risk areas. This is a hands on leadership role, suited to someone confident managing teams on the factory floor while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and performance.

The Role

  • Supervising daily production activities, with a particular focus on High Care operations.
  • Taking full responsibility for High Care operations and running the High Care team independently.
  • Providing cover for the High Care Supervisor during periods of absence.
  • Working actively on the production line while based in Low Risk.
  • Coordinating effectively between High Care and Low Risk teams to minimise downtime.
  • Reviewing daily production plans and allocating labour accordingly.
  • Monitoring productivity, quality, waste, and compliance throughout the shift.
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues in real time.
  • Ensuring all production, quality, and health and safety paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Upholding high standards of GMP, hygiene, and food safety.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Experience and Background

  • Proven experience within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience in food production.
  • Strong experience working in High Care environments.
  • Hands on experience leading production teams on the factory floor.
  • Good understanding of food preparation or production processes.
  • Experience working to HACCP, GMP, allergen control, and temperature control standards.
  • Forklift experience is advantageous, licence desirable but not essential.

    • Experience with attendance management, timekeeping, and basic disciplinary matters.

    • Confidence managing line start-ups, changeovers, and shutdowns.
    • Aware of continuous improvement methods such as Lean and root cause analysis.
  • Health and Safety
    • Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
    • Confidence enforcing safe working practices and conducting safety checks.
  • Communication and Administration
    • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to lead team briefings and shift handovers.
    • Accurate completion of production and quality documentation.
    • Basic IT skills and strong attention to detail.
