Barker Ross are currently looking for an enthusiastic fitter engineer to join our clients PDI/Service department in Corby, on a temp to perm contract starting asap. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer to work on new irrigation equipment, carrying out pre‑delivery inspections as well as building machines to customer specifications. Servicing and carrying out repairs to customers’ equipment both here and on site across the country. Much of the work is factory based and the role requires a self‑motivated and conscientious person with a good eye for detail. In return we offer excellent working conditions, pay and benefits.

Ideal candidate:

  • From an agricultural/mechanical engineering background
  • Capable of working on their own initiative or as part of a small team
  • Experience in the motor industry/machine/industrial/plant maintenance sectors considered
  • Strong communication and customer skills
  • A full UK driving licence (Counterbalance fork truck licence advantageous, but not essential)

We will provide comprehensive product training and on the use of all relevant equipment on site. Hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 am to 05:00 pm, Friday finish at 16:30 pm.
