Our client based in Elsham, Brigg is a well-established business that provides packaging solutions into the healthcare sector. They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Slitting Machine Operator to join their team!
This is a permanent opportunity, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern of 2 days, followed by 2 nights (06:00-18:00 / 18:00-06:00), with average weekly contractual hours of 42 per week. The basic annual salary for the role is £30,379 per annum, with the opportunity for overtime at enhanced rates. The company also offers a quarterly Gainshare scheme of up to 5% based on site targets and KPIs.
We are looking for an experienced Slitting Machine Operator, who is able to operate conversion machinery to produce finished slit reels in an efficient manner which meets specifications.
Duties of the role include:
- Select film, materials and operating supplies in accordance with job specification
- Carry out job set up in a safe and efficient manner
- Carry out process inspection checks to ensure product meets specification
- Unload and record product, palletise and package product in accordance with internal/customer requirements where applicable
- Accurately complete production reports in Mills systems to ensure correct time recording and product identification
- Keep machine and surrounding area safe, clean and tidy
- Monitor machine operation and problem solve where necessary
- Inform maintenance of any work required to prevent breakdowns
- Rework non-conforming product where required
- Empty waste skips during and at the end of shift, ensuring that external skips are covered at all times
- Remove litter and manufacturing waste from designated areas throughout the plant
- Ensure daily management boards are updated

Please note, we will only be considering candidates that have relevant experience working with slitting machines within a manufacturing/production environment. Own transport is essential in order to reach the remote location of the site.
