Barker Ross Recruitment are currently working with a well-established architectural and project management practice who are seeking a talented Architectural Technologist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within a collaborative and design-focused environment, working across a varied portfolio of projects.
The Role
As an Architectural Technologist, you will be involved in all stages of the design and construction process, working closely with designers, clients, and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing client requirements and planning workloads
- Preparing designs using CAD software and traditional drawing methods
- Producing detailed drawings, plans, and documents for statutory approvals
- Coordinating and collating technical building information
- Checking construction drawings for design and compliance issues
- Advising on building regulations, environmental, and legal requirements
- Making site visits and inspecting works on site
- Monitoring designs for health and safety compliance and contributing to risk assessments
- Preparing specifications and tender documentation
- Liaising with contractors and consultants throughout the project lifecycle
- Researching new building technologies, legislation, and design processes
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of building technology and construction methods
- Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for design
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage workload independently and use initiative
