Barker Ross is recruiting for hands-on Agricultural Maintenance and Irrigation Engineer roles within a growing agricultural engineering business in Corby. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with mechanical experience and irrigation knowledge to join a practical, varied, and long-term role.
The Role
You will be responsible for the assembly, servicing, inspection, and repair of agricultural machinery and irrigation equipment, including:
- Hose reels
- Irrigation booms
- Water pumps
- General agricultural machinery
The role is mainly workshop-based, with occasional travel across the UK to customer sites for breakdown support during peak seasons.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble machinery to customer specifications
- Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
- Service, maintain, and repair irrigation equipment and agricultural machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults
- Attend on-site breakdowns when required
- Complete service documentation accurately
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with agricultural machinery or irrigation systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge and practical skills
- Proven ability to service and repair machinery or equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and practical problem-solving mindset
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Engineering qualification (Agricultural, Mechanical, or similar)
- Experience with irrigation systems or agricultural machinery
- Basic hydraulic or electrical knowledge
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Forklift licence
Working Hours
Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00
Friday: 08:00-16:30
42 hours per week
Overtime available
On-call rota required
