A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Project Engineer to join a highly customer centric, successful, international automotive component manufacturing business in Northamptonshire. It is essential that you have at least 2-3 years' experience as Project Engineer / Graduate Project Engineer within an automotive manufacturing environment and technical knowledge of injection moulding manufacturing processes. You will need to be degree educated in an engineering discipline.

As you will be working inter-departmentally, and liaising with a number of stakeholders, you must be a natural communicator, engaging, professional and pro-active.

As Project Engineer you will:

  • Ensure safety, quality and cost standards are followed and met at each stage of the project.
  • Communicate daily with customers, suppliers and the technical team centre members.
  • Lead project review meetings and present project status.
  • Address project risks and work with team members to resolve any problems to ensure on-time project delivery within defined commercial targets.
  • Actively participate in feasibility studies, manufacturing concept reviews, tool/equipment concept and design reviews.
  • Manage projects from nomination phase to final implementation.

You will need to demonstrate practical use of problem-solving tools (8D, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Charts, 5 why?), have an understanding of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow / Process Map.

As part of this role is customer facing, you will have experience of direct customer contact in new production introduction and therefore possess excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
