Our client based in Elsham, Brigg is a well-established business that provides packaging solutions into the healthcare sector. They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team! This is a permanent opportunity, working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week. The annual salary for the role will be £28,000. The package includes a quarterly bonus (based on site KPI's), 25 days holiday, 8 Bank Holidays, life assurance 4x annual earnings, pension scheme, employee assistance programme, occupational health platform and access to company discounts and benefits.
We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to act as a key Quality representative for the Elsham site, ensuring the effective management of customer complaints, internal non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and internal/external audits. The Quality Engineer will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complaints, lead structured problem-solving activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the site Subject Matter Expert for customer complaints, leading structured root-cause investigations (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D, DMAIC) and ensuring timely containment, corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare clear, professional complaint responses for customers and present monthly complaint performance and trend analysis to site leadership.
- Coordinate and support the Non-Conformance and CAPA process (internal and external), ensuring actions are implemented, verified and compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and BRCGS requirements.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and cross-functional teams to investigate deviations, returns and process failures, driving effective and sustainable solutions.
- Monitor complaint, NC and CAPA trends, supporting risk assessments, FMEA updates, process validation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plan, conduct and report internal QMS audits in line with ISO 9001, 14001 and 13485, and support customer, supplier and third-party audits through to timely closure.
- Maintain audit schedules, QMS documentation, SAP data accuracy and verification of corrective actions.
- Support quality training, supplier performance reviews and improvement projects, delivering measurable process and product benefits.
- Deputise for the Quality Manager during audits, meetings and escalations as required.
Key Deliverables:
- Timely and effective closure of complaints, non-conformances and CAPAs.
- Accurate reporting and analysis to drive continual Quality improvement.
- Ongoing compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.
- Strong collaboration between Quality, Operations and Engineering.
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate should have:
- HNC/Degree in Engineering, Quality or a related technical discipline.
- Formal training or experience in root cause analysis and problem solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa etc.).
- Experience in quality management systems within a manufacturing or regulated industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
