Purpose Of the Role: To carry out day-to-day operational warehousing activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods. You'll help ensure the accurate and timely handling of shipments, supporting the smooth running of the warehouse while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all core warehouse operations including goods receipt, accurate storage, order picking, retrieval, loading, and unloading of goods in line with company procedures.
- Conduct thorough checks and controls during each process to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with health & safety and operational standards.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments, checking for damage, discrepancies, or missing items, and report issues promptly to supervisors.
- Follow scanning and inventory procedures to ensure stock is recorded and tracked accurately in the warehouse management system.
- Maintain a high standard of order and cleanliness across all work areas, ensuring equipment is used safely and storage areas are kept tidy and hazard-free.
- Support continuous improvement by following best practices and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency or accuracy in warehouse operations.
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Experience putting away or retrieving heavy & high value goods
- Strong team player
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work at a fast pace
- Ability to work on own initiative / unsupervised
- Computer literate
- Manual handling skills
- Awareness of health and safety issues
- Numeracy and literacy skill
- Forklift License (desirable)
