Barker Ross is recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist in mechanised irrigation and water management. We are looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their growing team, providing installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems at customer sites across the UK.
You'll spend the majority of your time working in the field, with occasional workshop-based duties, supporting customers with the installation, fault finding, and maintenance of large-scale irrigation equipment.
- Electrical control systems, automation, sensors, and controls
- The role involves diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, testing equipment, and ensuring systems operate efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.
- Install, service, maintain, and repair irrigation systems at customer sites
- Diagnose faults on pumps, motors, valves, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, sensors, and electrical control systems
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records
We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Plant Engineering, Forklift Truck (FLT) Engineering, or similar field service roles.
Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Mobile Engineer.
Knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, pumps, electrical systems, automation, or industrial machinery.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
A full UK driving licence (essential).
37,000 - £40,000 salary depending on experience, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
