Barker Ross are currently recruiting for a Senior Warehouse Operative on behalf of our prestigious client, based in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional looking to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership and supervisory skills within a globally recognised automotive brand.

About the Role

As a Senior Warehouse Operative, you will play an important role in supporting the Warehouse Team Leaders with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse. You will be responsible for carrying out warehouse duties, supporting and guiding colleagues, helping achieve daily operational targets and ensuring high standards of Health & Safety, quality and housekeeping are maintained. The role will also provide opportunities to develop your skills in MHE training, team leadership, Kaizen and 5S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Warehouse Team Leaders with daily operations.
  • Assist with the supervision and deployment of warehouse colleagues.
  • Help achieve daily operational targets and objectives.
  • Carry out inductions and support the training of new employees.
  • Train and support colleagues across warehouse processes.
  • Promote excellent Health & Safety standards.
  • Carry out quality checks and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Deputise for the Team Leaders when required.
  • Support continuous improvement through Kaizen and 5S principles.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years' warehouse experience.
  • Valid Forklift / Order Picker Truck licence.
  • Good numerical and literacy skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Desirable:

  • Previous supervisory experience within a warehouse environment.
  • MHE Trainer / Examiner certification - full training will be provided if required.
