Our Public Sector Client based in Tyne & Wear requires a Job Evaluation People Partner.
Reporting to the Job Evaluation Consultant the post holder will analyse, design and evaluate job roles across the Service to support fair and equitable pay structures, ensuring job information is accurate, up to date and compliant with the job evaluation scheme and employment legislation.
The role is due to run through to August of 2026, with an hourly rate of Β£21.52 per hour.
This role will provide a high quality, customer focused people management service, including providing advice and support to managers and employees in line with professional standards, organisational policies, procedures and legal requirements.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Line management responsibility of a designated Advisor and / or Co-ordinator, allocating and quality checking work, addressing issues promptly and ensuring adequate training and support is in place.
Interpret, coach and guide people managers in the application of the Service\βs job evaluation scheme and the associated people management policies and practices to ensure fair, consistent application in line with policy, legislative requirements and organisational culture ensuring effective governance, legal compliance and mitigating all aspects of associated risk.
Work with managers and the People and Culture team to gather accurate job data through interviews, questionnaires, and document reviews.
Conduct detailed job analysis by collecting and examining information about job roles, duties, responsibilities, necessary skills, knowledge and experience in line with the job evaluation scheme.
Collaborate with managers and employees to gather and validate job information.
Ensure that accurate and updated job descriptions and specifications for all Green Book roles within the Service are maintained.
Assist in the development and implementation of the job evaluation systems and alignment to the new pay and grading structure.
Conduct the evaluation of job roles to determine appropriate classification and pay range using both internal and external benchmarking where appropriate.
Coach, mentor, influence, guide and constructively challenge departmental heads, managers and leaders in conducting the job evaluation process.
Ensure the timely completion of project milestones.
Support the job evaluation processes by providing detailed and objective job analysis reports on a regular basis.
Assist with equal pay audits and ensure job information supports equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) goals.
Provide guidance to managers on job design, workforce structure, and classification standards.
Act as a liaison between team and employees and create communications plans.
Address any employees concerns and feedback regarding the Green Book pay review process.
Collaborate and consult with trade union representatives in relation to job reviews and evaluation panels.
Build influential partnerships across the Service and as an active and effective team member working in a collaborative manner to enable the delivery of goals, projects and priorities.
Support the development and implementation of relevant functional policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
Assist in the analysis, interpretation and quality assurance of all data and information relating to the Green Book review.
Be responsible for the review of functional and management reports and documents, including the provision of timely monitoring data and information in relation to job evaluation.
Support the HRIS project, ensuring the effective transfer of accurate data into the new HRIS
We require a candidate to be qualified to CIPD Level 5 (or above) and ideally with experience in working on Job Evaluation in a Public Service Setting.
