The Opportunity
A growing and well established property and facilities organisation within the self-storage and commercial space sector is looking for a reliable and hands on General Maintenance Operative to support its expanding UK portfolio. The business operates across South Wales and the Midlands, managing a diverse range of sites including self-storage facilities, office buildings, and retail parades. This is a varied, practical role with long term stability and the chance to work across multiple property types.
What You'll Be Doing
- General building repairs including roofing and cladding
- Plumbing works
- Joinery repairs and installations
- Tiling and finishing works
- Painting and decorating
- Carpeting and flooring repairs
- Paving and external hard landscaping
- Drainage maintenance and minor repairs
- Grounds maintenance and site clearance
- Pressure washing of external areas
- Furniture assembly and removal
- General site upkeep to ensure high presentation standards
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a building trade or property maintenance role
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent trade qualification)
- Experience in roofing and cladding (desirable)
- CSCS card (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices, including hazard identification and risk assessments
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise tasks to meet KPI and SLA targets
- Comfortable using IT systems to log work and track expenditure
- Good communication skills with ability to liaise professionally across sites
