Hours: 2 weeks on 12pm - 8:30pm shift then 2 weeks 2am - 10:30am.
About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join our Newcastle operation. This pivotal role involves assisting the Shift Manager in leading warehouse operations across both day and night shifts. You'll play a key part in managing your team to ensure efficiency, productivity, and excellent customer service while supporting the development and engagement of colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage warehouse operations during shifts, ensuring accurate and efficient sortation of items.
- Uphold clients professional standards, policies, and procedures, including manual handling, safe working, and health and safety regulations.
- Support the performance, conduct, engagement, and development of team members, holding individuals accountable to company standards.
- Encourage positive employee relations and a collaborative team environment.
- Assist in recruitment, induction, and training of new staff, ensuring compliance with vetting procedures and equal opportunity policies.
- Provide shift summaries, handovers, and reports as required.
- Support resource planning to ensure operational coverage across all areas.
- Communicate process improvement initiatives and coach teams to achieve targets.
- Recognise and reward team members who make significant contributions.
- Lead shifts in the absence of the Shift Manager and assist with ad-hoc projects as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in the logistics or distribution industry.
- Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong IT literacy.
- Excellent planning, motivational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to drive results while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
