We're recruiting for a Despatch Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business supplying packaging solutions into the healthcare sector. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability within a growing business. The company is looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a reliable attitude, and previous warehouse, despatch or forklift operating experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Accurately picking orders following picking lists and preparing goods for delivery
- Completing manual goods in/out documentation accurately
- Identifying materials correctly using labels and job specifications
- Receiving deliveries and distributing materials to the correct departments
- Following receiving inspection plans to ensure quality standards are met
- Completing and distributing despatch paperwork and documentation accurately
- Safely operating counterbalance and reach forklift trucks, pallet trucks and other handling equipment
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and safety across the department
- Participating in stock inventory checks as required
- Wrapping reels to customer and product specifications
- Transferring finished products onto shipping pallets using the pallet invertor
- Operating the core cutter machine to cut cores as required
- Supporting waste management activities and ensuring skips are removed promptly
- Removing litter and manufacturing waste from designated areas across the plant
- Moving and disposing of materials safely and correctly as instructed
- Following cleaning schedules using the ride-on sweeper throughout the factory
- Loading and unloading transport vehicles safely and efficiently
What we're looking for:
- Previous warehouse, despatch or manufacturing experience
- Valid counterbalance and/or reach forklift truck experience preferred
- A reliable attitude with a positive approach to work and teamwork
- Good awareness of health & safety and quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when completing paperwork and picking orders
- Ability to work efficiently to deadlines and production targets
- Own transport due to site location
