A founder level opportunity for an entrepreneurial Managing Director to build and scale a new UK insurance brokerage from launch through to a potential seven figure exit. Backed by experienced insurance entrepreneurs with successful brokerage exits, the role offers significant autonomy, meaningful equity, and a mandate to create enterprise value.
The Opportunity
The Managing Director will lead the business from day one, shaping strategy, driving growth, and establishing a scalable, acquisition ready brokerage. Investors provide strategic guidance while granting full operational control, supported by deep expertise in valuation, insurer relationships, and exit mechanics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development, client acquisition, and insurer negotiations
- Build the initial revenue base and core client relationships
- Develop and execute a growth strategy aligned with consolidator criteria
- Hold full P&L responsibility and drive EBITDA discipline
- Implement MI and reporting frameworks suitable for future exit
- Oversee FCA regulatory responsibilities and governance
- Recruit and develop a lean, high quality team
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Senior leadership experience in UK insurance broking
- Proven personal revenue generation
- Strong FCA regulatory and operational knowledge
- P&L responsibility for a business, division, or substantial book

Equity structure and exit mechanics will be discussed with shortlisted candidates. Salary will depend on if you are personally investing from Day 1. You can choose not to and the package can be agreed - for example, you would receive a 20% shareholding on Day 1 with further allocations on the attainment of targets. As our client would like there to be a sharing of risk it can be achieved by your salary reducing in the short term to incentivise success from its employment level. (Possibly Β£60,000 - Β£75,000)
