Barker Munro Recruitment is pleased to be working with a well-respected Insurance business who requires an Assistant Underwriter to join their well-established and successful operation in Hampshire.

As an Assistant Underwriter, you will be responsible for handling new business, renewals, rating and adjustment enquiries from an allocated client portfolio. This is an amazing opportunity to work with industry experts and to grow your technical insurance knowledge. You will underwrite on existing accounts whilst working alongside other commercial underwriting staff.

To be considered for the role of Assistant Underwriter, you will ideally have excellent knowledge and previous experience in dealing with property or personal lines insurance, but consideration will also be given to candidates who have worked in financial services underwriting or regulated environments such as mortgages.

You will be an organised individual who can prioritise workloads, have a good attention to detail and be a team player. There is an agile culture now in place which also provides additional flexibility for some further home-working. For induction and training purposes, the amount of time in the office is likely to be higher until training is completed, at which point hybrid working is available.
