Barker Munro recruitment, a specialist Insurance recruiter across the South East of England, is working with this well established insurance business who have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and career driven Fleet Underwriter to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building strong relationships with brokers and customers, understanding their fleet insurance needs and using data insights to deliver tailored motor fleet solutions and who is seeking an opportunity to develop their portfolio knowledge and case underwriting exposure alongside the opportunity to advance your underwriting career.
You’ll work collaboratively within the busy Southeast underwriting team, supporting both the Head of Underwriting and the wider team in delivering financial targets and business growth and to contribute to the performance of the underwriting team.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate a consistent track record of underwriting motor fleet risks whilst supporting the wider Motor underwriting function.
- Work with insurance brokers and/or customers in the motor markets, predominantly motor fleet.
- Demonstrate and build broker relationships through regular visits and market engagement whilst being an active member in establishing industry trends and competitor activity.
- Previous experience in Fleet underwriting is a must.
- Ability to assess and analyse fleet risks, and communicate effectively with brokers/customers.
- Strong organisation and time management skills are essential, as you’ll manage your own diary in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills within a large, complex organisation.
- Good knowledge of FCA and other relevant regulations.
- Commercial acumen to develop and deliver compelling business cases.
