Do you want your work to shape how people experience culture, heritage and place? Barker Langham is one of the world's leading cultural consultancies. We work at the intersection of creativity, research and strategy to deliver museums, exhibitions, heritage sites and cultural destinations that leave a lasting impact — from intimate gallery installations to landmark national museums. Our projects span the UK, Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Americas, and our team brings the same passion and rigour to every one of them. We're looking for talented 3D Experiential Designers to join our London-based team and help bring our projects to life — from early concept designs to technical production. We're looking for freelance talent and permanent employees to support our growing portfolio.

What you'll do

  • You'll work across a varied portfolio of cultural and heritage projects, collaborating closely with consultants, researchers, curators and designers to translate complex ideas into compelling environments, interactives and narrative moments.
  • Creating high-quality 3D visualisations, architectural renders and exhibition designs.
  • Developing concepts through to final presentation-ready outputs.
  • Working with project teams to turn briefs into clear, beautiful visual narratives.
  • Contributing to client presentations and design reviews.
  • Collaborating with external architects, contractors and fabricators.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously across varying scales and aesthetics.

What we're looking for

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating 3D design and visualisation across varied project types.
  • Strong experience working in both exhibition and immersive/production design.
  • Experience of all stages of design from early concept through to production.
  • Proficiency in 3ds Max, SketchUp, Rhino, V-Ray, Lumion or similar.
  • Solid Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • An understanding of architectural, exhibition and production design principles.
  • The ability to pivot between projects, briefs and priorities without missing a beat.
  • A collaborative, generous working style — you share ideas and bring people with you.
  • Clear communication skills, with the confidence to explain design decisions to non-designers.
  • Interest in or experience with cultural and heritage projects is a real plus.
