Barker Associates is an award‐winning, multidisciplinary property consultancy offering Architecture, Design, Project Management, Surveying, Engineering and Sustainability services to a wide range of UK clients. We are actively recruiting Project Surveyors at various levels (Graduate to Chartered) to develop their careers across diverse UK projects. The role will be based at one of our four offices – Braintree, London, Cambridge or Birmingham – and may allow hybrid working depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with or conducting building condition surveys and producing clear, insightful reports.
- Collecting, developing and analysing data to support decision‐making.
- Supporting the preparation of tender documentation, including drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Co‐ordinating with stakeholders to agree timescales, costs and resources for efficient project delivery.
- Creating detailed implementation plans for clients and teams, providing feedback on changes.
- Assisting with tender submissions, contractor analysis and drafting / raising JCT construction contracts.
- Compiling and submitting project status reports to clients, management and stakeholders.
- Organising and attending pre‐contract briefings, ensuring smooth handovers.
- Conducting regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress and health & safety compliance.
- Managing fee projections for financial profiling across projects.
- Representing the business at client and project meetings with professionalism and technical confidence.
- Travelling to sites and client locations as required.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree or strong working experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Working toward or planning to achieve RICS Chartership.
- MRICS Chartership (desirable).
- Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle (DBS Enhanced check required).
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
