Personal injury, financial mis-selling claims, immigration matters, consumer rights, data breaches and group litigation are just a few of the areas in which we represent our clients. That’s why we need a strong, tenacious and able team to fight for justice on their behalf.

We are currently looking to recruit a solicitor to join our team, based at our head office in Manchester. The successful candidate will have experience of civil litigation claims and a working knowledge of instances of financial mis-selling.

Skills

  • Already qualified as a solicitor
  • Knowledge of financial mis-selling compensation claims and a proven background in civil litigation
  • Excellent working knowledge of the CPR or consumer credit/financial mis-selling sector
  • An ability to demonstrate significant civil litigation experience
  • An efficient and reliable output of work
  • A proven track record of handling caseloads
  • The ability to maintain a professional conduct at all times
  • Great inter-personal skills (approachable and always willing to help others)
  • A flexible approach to work
  • Excellent computer skills (good with Adobe, Word, Excel etc).
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Punctuality and a smart, professional appearance

Desirable but not essential:

  • Previous experience in group litigation / omnibus claim forms
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the current law on PCP/car finance commission claims/FCA’s position on the car finance industry
  • Previous experience in training paralegals in civil litigation, court procedures and CPR

Accountabilities .

  • Dealing with financial mis-selling claims – PCP/car finance commission
  • Maintaining client records and contact information, via our case management systems
  • Progressing financial mis-selling claims from inception through to settlement, including litigated matters
  • Preparing and submitting claims and complaints to FCA members, brokers and the FOS / FSCS and, ultimately, the issuing of proceedings
  • Managing all aspects of the civil litigation process, including drafting statements of case, track allocation, witness exchange, documents exchange, Trial preparation (including bundling, instructing Counsel etc).
  • Providing ad-hoc training to paralegals and first-time litigators on all of the above aspects of litigation and beyond
