Barings’ Investment Grade Corporate team is seeking an investment professional with five or more years of work experience for a senior credit analyst position. The candidate selected will join a global Investment Grade Corporate Credit team, including a seven-person analyst team, in London. The individual will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities for the Investment Grade Corporates team, which manages assets in excess of $80 billion. The Director level candidate will have the responsibility for lead coverage on Developed Market Banks within the Financials sector.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide analysis of investment grade corporate credits within the Financials (Banks) sector
- Financial analysis and modeling
- Evaluate companies and the risks related to investing in debt securities across the capital structure
- Individual security analysis, including capital structure and indenture analysis, cash flow and liquidity analysis and total return and relative value assessment
- Meet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilise other information sources to become an expert in assigned coverage
- Produce clear and concise research reports based on independent observation and analysis
- Produce quarterly industry reviews and communicate recommendations to portfolio management
- Collaborate with other Barings’ investment teams optimizing efficiencies and framing relative value within sectors
- Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives
- Seven or more years of credit analyst experience—either investment grade or high yield/bank debt/privates
- CFA and/or MBA preferred
- Client presentation experience preferred
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced, transaction oriented team
- Self-starter, must be organised and able to work independently
- Ability to prioritise work and multi-task responsibilities
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, Bloomberg, etc.
