Barings is seeking an Associate Director for its Charlotte based Global Investor Relations Team. This individual will fill a vital role on the U.S. based team and work closely with their counterparts in London and Hong Kong. Role expectations are to complete all day-to-day Investor Relations processes, liaising directly with clients and internal teams and help identify enhancements to the Client experience. This position will sit in Charlotte.
Primary Responsibilities- Coordinating with multiple Transfer Agents, including attending regular service review calls, assisting with escalated issues/incidents, monitoring their adherence to SLAs & KPIs and annual Due Diligence reviews & visits.
- Complete dealing, settlement, registration, and NIGO queries from our TA partners, performing duties in accordance with market practices and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the processing of Capital activities (subscription, redemption, transfer, switches) and non-financial activities (new investor creation, static data maintenance, statement & contract note distribution, audit confirms, responding to investor/client queries & multiple time bound projects).
- Interact with TAs to assist with resolution of AML Customer Due Diligence (CDD) issues and Annual Refreshes.
- Fulfill requests from Distributors, Fund Platforms or Data Vendors for the completion of fund data templates accurately and within required timescales.
- Build professional, positive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues in other departments, e.g. Portfolio Management, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Client Onboarding, etc.
- Assist with new client onboarding across the Retail/Wealth channel, coordinating activities with business line partners and service teams to provide a smooth and seamless Client experience.
- 5+ years of asset management, transfer agency, broker, or advisory firm experience preferred.
- Experience across the Wealth/Retail channel; effectively working with RIA’s, wealth managers & custodians preferred.
- Experience with alternative platforms such as iCapital, Subscribe+ and CAIS is a plus.
- A client first mentality and strong interpersonal skills; our firm and team culture are paramount.
- Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task and handle multiple queries from clients, transfer agents and colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
