It also includes supporting cross-functional teams in providing scalable and sustainable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and support project teams on architectural design, solution selection, and implementation, promoting scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
  • Maintain and contribute to enterprise-wide knowledge repositories and architecture artifacts, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including solution architects, data engineers, business analysts, Security, Compliance, and platform teams, to define and implement data architecture strategies and roadmaps that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of reference architectures and integration patterns for data movement, consumption, and interoperability.
  • Design scalable solutions across structured and unstructured data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Fabric, Azure Data Lake, SharePoint).
  • Integrate data governance and quality by embedding metadata management, lineage tracking, access controls, retention policies, and data quality standards across the enterprise.
  • Enhance data discoverability, compliance, and stewardship by integrating with metadata platforms (e.g., Collibra, Purview) and collaborating with Data Governance and Risk teams.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry trends, contributing thought leadership within internal and external forums to ensure Barings’ architecture remains forward-looking and competitive.
  • Architect robust data platforms to enable advanced analytics and AI, supporting the deployment of models and pipelines.
  • Work with AI/ML innovation labs and business teams to ensure data architectures support model training pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent-based frameworks, and analytics use cases.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise architecture, Architecture and Design Governance, or related roles.
  • Expertise in cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, Databricks), data integration and messaging (e.g., Azure APIM, Service Bus, Azure Data Factory, REST APIs), metadata and governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Purview), data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI), data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical), and enterprise architecture tools (e.g., Ardoq).
  • Familiarity with financial services data domains (e.g., investments, origination, research, client onboarding) and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in Architecture and Design governance processes, tooling and integrations in large organisations while working with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to contribute to enterprise data strategies, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and deliver high-quality architectural artifacts.
  • Understanding of data product and data mesh patterns to support decentralised ownership with enterprise-wide interoperability.
