We’re looking for an experienced Network & Security Engineer who can design, implement, and operate the network and security estate here at Barings. You’ll bring experience, drive, enthusiasm, and a passion for technology.
Primary Responsibilities- The primary responsibility will be to design, implement and operate the network and security environment in accordance with the teams policies, processes and procedures.
- Operate within an Agile environment.
- Provide technical leadership within a collaborative team.
- Work in the team to design, implement and operate secure networking capabilities.
- Pro-actively maintain the network and security hardware, applications, and services.
- Respond to incidents, requests and troubleshoot connectivity or performance issues.
- Implement planned Change across all the devices and services under the management of the team.
- Respond to emergency situations and perform effective troubleshooting during Major Incidents as required.
- High degree of documentation skills, for creating and maintaining design and operational documentation, Change documentation, Runbooks, Test plans and any other operational documentation as required.
- Management of Control, Audit and Risk routines.
The Engineer will have proven technical expertise with:
- Significant experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama in a global environment.
- Hold a PCNSE or PCCSE certification or equivalent in experience.
- Cisco CCNP essential.
- High level of understanding and experience with OSPF and BGP.
- Azure experience, AZ-700 certified.
- Micro-segmentation principles and technologies.
- Zero Trust principles.
- Experience with Wireshark or other packet capture tools to analyze traffic.
- Significant experience troubleshooting voice and video network traffic.
- Significant experience with M&A activities across network and security services.
- Experience with DDoS mitigation services.
- Experience with LogicMonitor or similar tools.
- Experience planning and leading BCP/DR events across co-lo’s and data centers from a network and security perspective.
- Experience of Cisco ISE and/or other NAC solutions.
- Experience with multiple connectivity technologies including DIA, MPLS and DWDM.
- Experience of Cisco and Meraki wireless services.
The Network & Security Engineer will have general working expertise of:
- Strong knowledge of all round infrastructure technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, to respond to shifting priorities, and to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Candidate must be passionate about innovation and enjoy leading change.
- Candidate must be passionate in creating a collaborative, caring and safe environment for all teammates to succeed.
- Network Automation experience advantageous.
- Participate in the team on-call rota.
- Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
- Citrix Netscalers
- Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
- Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA)
- ServiceNow (Inactive)
