Barings is seeking candidates for summer internship opportunities across public and private markets in credit, real assets, and capital solutions.

This 9-week programme provides hands-on experience and exposure to the financial industry.

Interns will work on real business priorities, develop foundational investment skills, and learn how technology and AI-enabled tools are being responsibly used to support research, analysis, communication, and productivity.

High-performing interns may be considered for the Analyst Programme upon graduation.

Opportunities are available across a variety of investment teams, including Client Portfolio Management, Emerging Markets, Global Private Finance, High Yield, Infrastructure Debt, Portfolio Finance, Portfolio, Solutions & Analytics and Real Estate.

  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Support underwriting activities for debt or equity opportunities
  • Market research
  • Financial analysis and modelling
  • Risk assessment and valuation
  • Investment memo preparation
  • Participate in portfolio monitoring, analysis, and valuation activities
  • Learn and apply approved technology and AI-enabled tools to support research, analysis, workflow efficiency, and communication while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and sound judgment
  • Assist with special projects, presentations, and other team initiatives

Qualifications

  • Currently in penultimate year of university, on track for a 2:1 or higher degree completion date of Spring 2028.
  • Preferred degrees include Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Statistics, and related fields.
  • Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from credible sources.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and learning agility, including a willingness to learn and responsibly use AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot to support research, analysis, communication, collaboration, and productivity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, transaction-focused team environment.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, sound judgment, and a growth mindset, with an interest in how investment teams use data, technology, and collaboration to deliver results.
