Role Overview
Our Technology and Cyber team is looking for an experienced PMO Advisor to join the team. As a PMO Advisor within Technology & Cyber (TeCy), you will play a critical role in driving portfolio governance, enabling demand prioritisation, and ensuring consistency and rigour across a complex technology transformation landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Own, embed, and continuously improve governance frameworks across the Technology Portfolio, ensuring alignment with TeCy standards and Baringa best practice.
- Act as a centre of excellence for PMO capability, driving consistency in delivery approach, controls, and reporting across programmes and workstreams.
- Support programme-level planning and controls, including ownership of tracking and reporting against milestone plans, critical path tracking, and facilitation of plan control forums.
- Own portfolio-level RAID management, ensuring high-quality risk, issue and dependency identification and proactive mitigation processes are in place and adhered to.
- Deliver robust programme health reporting, leveraging trend analysis and root cause insights to inform decision-making.
- Proactively surface delivery risks and challenge status updates, driving accountability and resolution.
- Continuously enhance PMO and reporting processes, simplifying where possible and improving quality and usability of outputs.
- Improve mechanisms for workstream reporting and data capture, increasing automation and reducing overhead.
- Identify and implement best practices, tools, and innovations (e.g., Azure DevOps, dashboards, reporting automation).
- Contribute to the evolution of TeCy portfolio management capability, sharing knowledge with others.
- Support the Technology demand management framework, ensuring a clear, structured intake, triage, and prioritisation process.
- Support capacity and investment planning, ensuring demand is balanced against resource availability and delivery constraints.
- Provide data-led insights into pipeline health, demand trends, and prioritisation decisions.
- Support the development and execution of change and adoption approaches, ensuring visibility, engagement, and readiness across stakeholders.
- Support portfolio communications cadence, including leadership updates, programme reporting, and key messaging.
- Develop clear, concise, and impactful executive-level materials (e.g., leadership packs, steering updates).
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong experience in PMO or portfolio management within large-scale technology or transformation programmes.
- Proven ability to operate at portfolio level, managing complexity, ambiguity, and multiple competing priorities.
- Deep understanding of RAID management, programme controls, and planning methodologies, including critical path management.
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and reporting tools for analysis and executive storytelling.
- Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps, ServiceNow SPM, dashboards, or portfolio reporting platforms.
- Strong commercial and strategic awareness, linking demand to business outcomes.
- Strong experience creating executive-level communications and leadership reporting.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and confident presenting and leading discussions with large groups.
- Ability to drive clarity and ensure alignment.
