Our Policy and Economics practice is looking for an experienced Consultant or Senior Consultant to join the team. We support clients from policy development to delivery and capital deployment, from regulatory strategies to business case submissions, and from competition cases to expert opinion. Our economists, policy specialists, regulatory experts and techno-economic modellers work alongside governments, regulators, investors and corporates — shaping regulatory and policy frameworks, as well as decisions, which underpin multi-billion-pound investment across energy, utilities and wider infrastructure.

What you will be doing

• Apply economic reasoning and quantitative analysis to assess the impact of policy and regulatory changes on energy markets, investors, consumers and other market participants.
• Develop robust analytical models and evidence-based insights to inform client decision-making on complex policy and market issues.
• Translate technical analysis into clear, compelling and commercially relevant recommendations for clients.
• Produce high-quality written outputs, including reports, presentations and briefing materials for senior client stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing, discussions on client propositions, and the development of new service offerings.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and support the delivery of projects from inception through to final recommendations.
• Contribute to internal initiatives that strengthen the team's capabilities, analytical tools, intellectual property and market profile.
• Stay abreast of emerging policy, regulatory and market developments, identifying implications for clients and opportunities for new work.

Your skills and experience

• You will have 3-7 years' experience in consulting, government, industry or a similar analytical role, with a focus on energy markets, policy or economics.
• You've conducted policy, regulatory or economic analysis and can demonstrate how your work has influenced business, investment or policy decisions.
• You will have experience using quantitative analysis, economic modelling or data analysis techniques to evaluate market or policy outcomes.
• You've produced high-quality written reports, presentations or consultation responses, translating complex analysis into clear and persuasive recommendations.
• You have a good understanding of energy markets and structures, underpinning policy and emerging trends.
• You've worked with clients or senior stakeholders to scope problems, communicate findings and deliver analytical projects to deadlines.
