About Baringa:
We set out to build the world’s most trusted consulting firm – creating lasting impact for clients and pioneering a positive, people-first way of working. We work with everyone from FTSE 100 names to bright new start-ups, in every sector.
You’ll find us collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients, from the big picture right down to the detail: helping them define their strategy, deliver complex change, spot the right commercial opportunities, manage risk, or bring their purpose and sustainability goals to life. Our clients love how we get to know what makes their organisations tick – slotting seamlessly into their teams and being proudly geeky about solving their challenges.
We have hubs in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, and we work all around the world - from a wind farm in Wyoming to a boardroom in Berlin. Find us wherever there's a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.
Our Strategy & Transactions practice is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join the team and support our work in the low carbon infrastructure and renewables space.
What you will be doing
You will be joining our dynamic and growing Strategy & Transactions practice. We work with a range of clients, including energy companies, independent developers and infrastructure funds, to help them identify and execute value creation opportunities in relation to renewable and low carbon infrastructure portfolios. Baringa is differentiated through its ability to leverage our fundamental understanding of market, technical, commercial and regulatory drivers of value and risk to help clients optimise the value of infrastructure investments across the entire project lifecycle. We do this by running blended teams of strategy &/ transaction experts with sector specialists, bringing hands-on expertise from across Baringa to our clients.
Your typical projects will include:
- Supporting investors with their investment strategies by advising on how best to optimize their portfolios and assessing value creation opportunities.
- Advising on capability investments in asset management and revenue management, including how to optimally deploy devex and capex.
- Leading commercial due diligence engagements, focusing on large platform deals in mature renewables, BESS and PtX.
More broadly, we are looking for someone with an appetite and capacity to provide leadership bandwidth to the team, capable of coaching and investing in junior team members to enable us to evolve and scale the practice area in this exciting market in the next 3-5 years.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone with 8 years+ experience in some or all of the following:
- Experience in investment strategy, M&A and financial advisory and valuation in the energy and infrastructure space, particularly in relation to renewable and ‘power-to-x’.
- Experience in structuring and negotiating commercial deals related to energy and infrastructure investments.
- Experience developing credible business cases for infrastructure investments.
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to develop hypotheses and reach conclusions in tight timeframes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (e.g. preparing and presenting investment theses to Investment Committees).
- Experience building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in building teams and leading engagements.
