Our Energy and Water practice is a dynamic, award-winning team of experts dedicated to tackling the Utilities sector's most pressing and public facing challenges, including driving the transition to Net Zero. Our clients across the sector rely on our deep industry experience, knowledge and insight coupled with a hands-on, pragmatic delivery approach to solve their challenges including in Retail Energy, supporting clients with market reform, customer operations, and net zero strategies; Energy Networks, enabling decarbonisation through policy, strategy, innovation, and digital solutions across electricity & gas, system operations; and Water, helping organisations shift the perception of water, highlighting its value, adopt sustainable practices, and digitally transform operations to benefit customers, society, and investors.
What you will be doing:
This is an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurial-minded consultants who are excited at the possibility of joining and helping grow our existing energy and water team who deliver a fundamentally different experience for our clients and employees. As a privately held LLP, this position offers the future possibility of admission to an equity Partnership with sustained high-performance. You will be a trusted advisor for our clients helping them identify, assess, design and implement solutions to their most complex business challenges. You will be responsible for scoping and delivering complex multi-faceted change programmes under challenging market conditions. You will work frequently in industry within high visibility areas, leading blended project teams of Baringa and client personnel. You will be part of our practice’s leadership team, driving business development activities and go-to-market strategy.
Your skills and experience:
Our Senior Manager position requires 8+ years of experience (Director 10+ years) in a consulting role with extensive experience within the utilities sector. We are seeking experienced industry professionals who have deep management consulting experience and a curious personality with a track record of:
- Successfully contributing to building and growing trusted client relationships at senior levels.
- Shaping, building, nurturing and leading successfully blended teams of clients and consultants.
- Delivering complex client engagements with tangible outcomes.
- Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to drive business development.
- Strong communication, leadership and presentation skills.
- The ability to explain complex concepts to non-specialists.
We are particularly looking for individuals with experience or specialism in the following key areas:
- Digital: We are excited to be at the forefront of emerging technologies that support our clients to deliver the right solutions into their business to drive both efficiency and performance. We are looking for individuals who have experience in delivering digital, data platforms & solutions including AI in utilities.
- Customer: We are passionate about building a market that works for customers. We need people who understand how complex processes work across customer metering, billing, and debt management from a systems, process and regulatory perspective and how to improve them.
- Field Services: We are helping our clients build workforces of the future that serve both the customer and network operators needs as efficiently and effectively as possible. Whether that be from installing a meter in a customer's home or maintenance and repairing of network assets. We are looking for individuals that have experience in field service transformation to enable performance improvement and net zero delivery.
- Network Infrastructure: Significant investment is required across utilities to maintain energy and water services to customers in a safe, reliable and sustainable way. We help our clients invest in the right assets, at the right time, at the right cost and supporting net zero ambitions. We are looking for individuals with experience in shaping, delivery & digital enablement of asset management & capital delivery programmes in utilities.
- Energy Distribution: As we transition to net zero we are delighted to help our clients progress on this journey. We are looking for individuals with knowledge of DSO, flexibility markets or grid connection process and relevant industry reforms to strengthen our existing expert team. Our main focus for these roles is across the UK & Ireland markets, but experience in Australia, the US or Continental Europe would also be useful, as we look to continue to grow our international presence.
