Manager, Financial Services - Risk Advisory

We are seeking an experienced risk and controls manager to join our London-based Risk & Compliance practice. This role focuses on shaping and delivering regulatory change programmes, modernising risk management processes, and building future‑ready enterprise risk frameworks for financial‑services clients.

What you will be doing

  • Shape and structure workstreams in complex regulatory change programmes, mobilising international teams and leading delivery of tangible client outcomes.
  • Lead teams to perform gap analyses against regulatory requirements and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Update program status and draft high‑quality client deliverables.
  • Design future‑ready enterprise risk management frameworks, including risk strategy, appetite statements, key risk indicators, governance and reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the three lines of defence to align risk strategy with business goals and convert complex data into actionable insights.
  • Analyse processes and workflows in risk and compliance functions to identify optimisation and automation opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of emerging risks and trends to anticipate client issues and shape innovative solutions.
  • Apply traditional and emerging technologies to modernise risk management processes and culture.
  • Mentor junior team members and facilitate training and coaching.

Your skills and experience

  • Relevant experience in risk management, audit, compliance or related functions within financial services or fintech.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to present risk insights clearly.
  • Track record of building trusting relationships in an international environment.
  • Practical experience with enterprise risk management frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, ISO 31000.
  • Experience in risk assessment, control testing, KPI setting, risk governance and reporting.
  • Proficiency with data analytics and visualization tools (MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience modernising risk processes through automation, AI‑driven insights and digital tools, including GRC solutions.
  • Excellent project management and prioritisation skills.
  • Professional certifications in risk and controls management (optional).
  • Consulting experience or experience in a Big 4 firm (optional).
