Our Commodities and Energy Trading Practice

We are looking for consultants to manager level to join a team that works across all major energy companies and utilities. Our work involves translating strategy into action, entering new markets, building trading capabilities, and revolutionising trading businesses and IT landscapes.

What you will be doing

  • Shaping a new model for power trading: Create a comprehensive business operating model and target architecture for the merger of two power trading organisations.
  • Opening up a new power market: Develop and implement custom trading tools, processes and strategies, enabling a utility to compete in a newly restructured national power trading market.
  • Business restructuring: Design and implement operating models for complex global organisations covering the full trading and commodity lifecycle.
  • Digital Transformation: Mature clients’ digital capabilities and embed ML and AI into their architectures, improving commercial decision‑making and trader decision‑support tooling.
  • Trading solution transformations: Lead implementations, upgrades and system selections for market‑leading trading organisations, introducing new and innovative products.

Your skills and experience

A well‑rounded candidate should demonstrate strengths across the following key areas:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Internships (graduates welcome) or up to five years of experience in consulting or a relevant industry role, including exposure to commodities and energy trading initiatives.
  • Energy & Power Trading: Strong understanding of power markets and trading mechanisms (day‑ahead, intraday/real‑time, bilateral and OTC markets) and how electricity prices are formed.
  • Business & Process Analysis: Ability to identify and structure business problems, understand value drivers and translate requirements into practical, impactful solutions.
  • Project Delivery: Proven track record of delivering projects end‑to‑end, adapting to different roles across the project lifecycle and working effectively within complex delivery environments.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential. Advanced proficiency in Danish, Norwegian, Finnish or Swedish is advantageous; additional languages are a plus.
