We set out to build the world’s most trusted consulting firm – creating lasting impact for clients and pioneering a positive, people-first way of working. We work with everyone from FTSE 100 names to bright new start-ups, in every sector.

You’ll find us collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients, from the big picture right down to the detail: helping them define their strategy, deliver complex change, spot the right commercial opportunities, manage risk, or bring their purpose and sustainability goals to life. Our clients love how we get to know what makes their organisations tick – slotting seamlessly into their teams and being proudly geeky about solving their challenges.

We have hubs in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, and we work all around the world - from a wind farm in Wyoming to a boardroom in Berlin. Find us wherever there’s a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.

Our Operational and Process Excellence practice are looking for an experienced Senior Manager or Director focused on AI and automation to join the team.

Operational Excellence (OE) at Baringa is about partnering with clients to solve their most complex problems and deliver operationally excellent processes, systems, teams, people, and leaders. The OE team focuses on re-imagining end-to-end processes to deliver for customers; designing AI, Automation and process intelligence technologies that drive scaled operational benefits; enhancing team performance; building bottom-up OE capability; and coaching leaders on how to embed longer-term sustainable performance and cost bases.

We believe the most impactful operational improvements come from a broad set of capabilities, combining Lean and Systems Thinking with elements of Operational Transformation, Intelligent Automation and AI, Organisational Agility, Process Intelligence, Cost Optimisation, and Behavioural Change. We want to continue to innovate to address our client’s challenges, and that’s where you come in.

As a member of our team you will help shape and drive a breadth of exciting, transformational work across all our industry market sectors (Financial Services, Products & Services, Energy & Resources, Pharmaceutical & Lifesciences and Government).

What you will be doing

  • Guide projects and programmes to improve operational performance, future-proof operations and build sustainable capability in clients.
  • Work closely with operational heads to understand their business strategy and objectives, identifying opportunities to re-imagine operational teams and processes.
  • Help clients develop and implement operationally focused process digitisation, automation and AI strategies that align with wider digital transformation goals and strategic intentions.
  • Advise clients on the integration of automation and AI technologies into their existing platforms and wider technology landscape to re-imagine processes, enhance decision making and augment employee capabilities.
  • Support clients to evolve their ways of working and management practises, enhancing their technological proficiency and facilitate digital adoption.
  • Act as a key member of the Operational Excellence Leadership team responsible for coaching and mentoring junior team members and owning business development.

Your skills and experience

  • Project and client delivery experience within a professional services or management consultancy organisation, an internal transformation and change team, or roles managing high performing operations teams.
  • Experience with performing operational diagnostics to identify, baseline and quantify improvement opportunities and benefits cases (particularly around technology and automation), end-to-end process transformation, design and implementation of ways of working changes and management coaching.
  • Skilled in a range of data collection, analysis and visualisation techniques.
  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma / Systems Thinking tools and techniques.
  • Experience with identifying, validating and scoping opportunities for technology-enabled process optimisation, including implementation of automation and AI technologies.
  • A good understanding of technology trends and delivering productivity improvements using tools such as Process Intelligence, Workflow, CRM, Automation & AI.
  • Experience in developing capability in project/programme teams (including client side) through coaching and training delivery.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
