Our Government practice are looking for an experienced Consultant/Senior Consultant to join the team.

What you will be doing

  • Process Reimagination: Support clients in exploring how services, processes and ways of working could evolve in an AI-enabled environment, helping them move beyond traditional approaches and identify practical improvements.
  • AI Opportunity Identification: Work with client teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve outcomes, efficiency and service delivery, helping assess feasibility, risks and potential value.
  • Demo-Led Engagement: Use hands‑on demonstrations, workshops and practical examples to help stakeholders understand AI capabilities and limitations, building confidence through tangible proof points rather than theory.
  • Research & Insight Development: Maintain awareness of developments across GenAI tools, AI-enabled services and public sector adoption trends, translating emerging capabilities into practical insights for clients and engagement teams.
  • Client Delivery: Take ownership of high‑quality deliverables including assessments, adoption roadmaps, operating model recommendations, governance frameworks, workshop outputs and transformation plans.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and third parties, supporting workshops, interviews and working sessions that help shape AI‑enabled change.
  • Best Practice Development: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Baringa’s AI methodologies, playbooks, frameworks and reusable assets, helping strengthen our Government AI capability.
  • Business Development Support: Contribute to proposals, thought leadership, credential development and client opportunities, helping identify where AI capabilities can create additional value for clients.
  • Team Contribution: Actively participate in Baringa's internal AI initiatives, sharing knowledge and supporting capability development across the wider Government practice.

Your skills and experience

  • Experience working within consulting, government, healthcare, local government or wider public sector environments, with exposure to transformation, digital, data or technology‑enabled change.
  • Understanding of how government organisations operate, including the practical constraints associated with governance, information security, data privacy and operational delivery.
  • Strong interest in AI adoption and practical experience using leading AI ecosystems such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or equivalent tools within day‑to‑day work.
  • Experience supporting organisations in the adoption of new technologies, digital tools, operating model changes or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to structure complex issues and develop practical recommendations.
  • Experience creating high‑quality client‑facing deliverables, presentations, reports and workshop materials.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive approach to learning, with curiosity about emerging AI developments and their practical application in public sector settings.
  • Commitment to the responsible use of AI, with an appreciation of governance, risk and ethical considerations associated with AI adoption.
  • A pragmatic mindset that focuses on creating measurable value and tangible outcomes rather than pursuing technology for its own sake.
